Miss Crogan’s Generous Students

Miss Crogan’s class collected pennies for a mini-Service Project. After all the pennies and coins were collected the students spent several days counting and learning about coins. Additional lessons were incorporated to learn about the Presidents on the various coins, right before Presidents Day. The students counted and collected over $14! The class generously donated the money to the Ursuline Sister’s AIDS Ministry.

Miss Crogan’s Class Celebrates 100 Days Together!

On February 10th, 2012 Miss Crogan’s class celebrated 100 days of hardwork in Transitional Kindergarten. The day was fun-filled with costumes, ice cream, and games! The class had a 100 year-old look-alike contest. The winner got to pick a prize from the Treasure Chest. Throughout the day, the students played educational games and ended the day with ice cream sundaes!

Miss Crogan’s Class “Rocks Around the Clock”

Miss Crogan introduced Clocks and Telling Time in her TK Math class in February. Miss Crogan prepared the Play Center carpet to look just like a humongous clock! Students were asked to fill in the missing numbers on the clock. After, students were chosen to “walk the clock” with Miss Crogan. Together, the class counted from 1 to 12. Next, Mrs. O’Neil represented our minute hand by laying in the middle of the clock, while a student laid feet to feet to portray the minute hand. Miss Crogan announced a time for the clock to read and the “hour hand” had to move accordingly. The students loved being a part of this “hands on” lesson!

In the beginning of our school year the children in Mrs. Meister’s four-year old classes each received a classroom library card. Every Wednesday the children have fun choosing a special book to take home. The books are constantly changed and Holiday books are added. The children have learned to be responsible for the care of their chosen book as well as its return.
